Analysis of the Impact on the Actual Use of City Parks

Abstract

We researched the conditions which the urban park would be used effectively and their relevance in terms of actual use and management. The conditions of a park's effective use defined number of users of that park, and the number of park users was confirmed by visiting that park. We also conducted research of the factors that might be involved for number of park users. We surveyed 19 city parks in Asahi-ward, Osaka City, and analyzed. As a result, it is found that the main factors contributing to the high number of city park users are the large area of the park and the proximity of an elementary school. We think these factors are said the conditions which the city park would be used effectively.
