Abstract
In recent years, railroad stations have become increasingly unmanned and compact, especially on regional commuter lines, making it difficult for the railroad company to maintain and manage stations, so stations are being maintained and managed by external organizations. In order to promote the maintenance and management of stations by external organizations other than the railroads, it is necessary to clarify and build consensus on the value of stations maintained and managed by external organizations. The purpose of this study is to clarify residents' evaluation of the maintenance and management methods of stations maintained by external organizations, using Unebi Station on the JR Sakurai Line as a case study.
The results suggest that those who use the station more than once a year tend to approve of the former method and disapprove of the latter. It was also suggested that those whose willingness to pay was higher than average tended to oppose the latter method.
