Imogolite is tubular clay mineral with chemical composition of (OH)3Al2O3SiOH. The clay mineral has been expected to have a useful function and/or activity, because of its remarkably large surface area and specific nano-tubular morphology. We have modified the structure of imogolite by substitution with some transition metals, in order to improve its function and/or activity.
