In order to apply more effectively high-pressure coolant for breaking the chip in turning operations, several improvements for the design of jet nozzle are considered. By using this new design nozzle, the jet-flow force per unit area increase and the jet flow breaks almost any chips as long tangled chips into small in some cutting conditions. The jet flow of high-pressure coolant reduces the radius of upward curvature of chips immediately after the generation of it, and makes a force act concurrently for this helical chips so as to increase the radius of curvature of it.
