New technologies in welding and coating were evaluated in point of blow-hole generation in fillet-welding of shop primer-coated steel plates.
A drastic decrease in the number of generated blow-holes was observed when a plate coated by a new inorganic primer with less amount of zinc was welded under the welding conditions of a 0.55% Si-1.3% Mn-0.07% Ti wire, a 80Ar+20CO2 shielding gas, and a little bit lower welding current with a new pulse MAG welder.
