Abstract
This study explored the relationship between creativity and preference for digital game genres among university students. A survey was conducted on 336 first- and second-year students at a private university. They were asked to indicate how much they liked each of the 19 digital game genres and identify their creativity. The results showed a significant difference in preference among the digital game genres. In addition, significant differences in preference for digital game genres were found among the groups divided by creativity: action, adventure, puzzle/quiz, strategic simulation, shooting, table game, board game, study/learning/training, and sound novel. This suggests that the favorite digital game genres differ depending on the differences in creativity.
