This study utilized a mock court simulating in a digital game to examine the learning effects on the saiban-in seido education. We selected 18 high school students and conducted the workshop using “Yuzai-Muzai”, a Japanese commercial game regarding saiban-in seido. As a result, we discovered five significant issues. (1) The participants positively evaluated “Yuzai-Muzai ” as a learning tool for Saiban-in seido . (2) Motivation, interest and confidence to participate as a saiban-in (lay judge) was radically improved after playing game. (3) The scores of multiple- choice knowledge test had no significant increase; as well as, (4) the open-ended comprehension test.
