A Study on Appropriate Handicaps According to Differences in Ability in Othello

Abstract

A common handicap in Othello is to place stones in the four corners, but this handicap has the problem that it cannot accommodate different strengths. In this study, we propose multiple handicaps in addition to the 4-corner handicap, and verify the strength of each handicap. After that, we will play against multiple Othello AI players using the handicaps, and propose appropriate handicaps according to the differences in ability.
