Abstract
This presentation organizes the evolution of Japanese game exhibitions into three stages, beginning with the era
of doujinshi conventions that paved the way. It traces how game exhibitions expanded from venues for distributing works
among fellow enthusiasts to becoming “live-type media” that position works within society and examines future prospects
and challenges.
