Seeds of Macropsychanthus (Fabaceae) drifted on the coasts of Japanese islands were classified to seven species based on about 700 seed collections. The identified species were M.comosus (G.Mey.) L.P.Queitoz & Snak, M.ferrugineus Merr., M.hexander (Ralph) L.P.Queiroz & Snak, M.javanicus (Benth.) L.P.Queiroz & Snak, M.umbrinus (Elmer) L.P.Queiroz & Snak, M.wilsonii Standl.) L.P.Queiroz & Snak, and an unknown species(M. " mable " tentatively named). Most frequent seeds are M.hexander, which were about 80% of all drift seeds of Macropsychanthus. The following frequent species were M.wilsonii (5%), M.comosus (4%), M.ferrugineus (4%) and M.javanicus (3%). M.umbrinus and M. " mable " were rarely drifted and about 1%, respectively. The characters of their seeds were described.
