This study focuses on utilizing an ordered probit model to analyse the variables influencing the severity levels of multivehicle, single vehicle and pedestrian and slow vehicle related to accidents during COVID-19 and the political crisis in Yangon, Myanmar. For this investigation, data on road traffic accidents in 2020–2022 were used. The results demonstrate that crash location variable is common factor for all three accidents and lighting conditions variables is significant in only multivehicle and pedestrian and slow vehicle related to accidents. Unlicensed drivers under the age of 18 are more risks in multivehicle accidents. The age of the pedestrian or cyclist who are older than 60 have a higher severity and pedestrians were more vulnerable than cyclists. Road and traffic characteristics are also significant in multivehicle and single vehicle accidents. The findings can be applied to developing road safety improvement strategies for the research locations.
