The study compared the use of the ride hailing services (RHS) in three (3) Southeast Asian cities, namely, Metro Manila, Bangkok, and Hanoi, during the Covid-19 pandemic period in 2020. The study focused on the gender issue and preferences when using RHS. Interesting findings include females travel distance by RHA is shorter than their male counterpart while in Hanoi, females also have less search and wait times. Differences by gender on trip purposes include females use RHS more for shopping than males in the three SEA cities. A significant percentage of non-regular trips like going out at night, for both genders, use RHS in the three cities. Also, there is significant use of RHS for daily commute trips which should be addressed properly by high-capacity mass transport systems. The higher the percentage use of RHS may be a reflection of how poor the public transport system available in the city.
