Active transport has been gaining more importance in people's lives, especially in the post-COVID-19 era. This study explores the travel characteristics of bicycle users in Yangon using a questionnaire survey. By applying a multilinear regression model, the key factors influencing bicycle trip frequency are identified; among them, delivery trips have the most significant effect. Middle-income individuals, the availability of bike stands, and basic education levels are also positively related to frequent bicycle use. A proposed bike network for Yangon has been developed based on the results of kernel density estimation. This study identifies the importance of socioeconomic and built environment factors in facilitating cycling, hence shedding light on valuable insights to inform urban land use and transport policy-making in supporting sustainable transportation development in Yangon.
