Abstract
We conducted an assessment of the Naha Airport expansion runway construction. The assessment reported that there will be a partial habitat loss of Pseudodichotomosiphon constrictaVaucheriaceae, Vaucheriales) during the construction. Hence, transplant of the algae was conducted for mitigation to the partial loss. As a result of the transplant, next-generation algae body was confirmed and habitat range expansion was also confirmed after a year. This was the first case of the wide area micro algae transplant reported in Japan, however, there are some macro algae transplant cases reported in the subtropical area. Here we reported methods of the transplant and the results. Moreover, we reported issues remained and foresight schedules for the transplant
