Abstract
An environmental change as such does not become an environmental problem. It becomes a problem by being recognized that the situation is undesirable and wrong for many people. It needs many disputes over the environmental change to make it a social problem. Civic group is one of major environmental disputers. So it is important to study about civic group in order to understand environmental problem. Environmental group has different character regionally because it is affected by the socio-economic situation of the region where it acts on a daily basis. There are many approaches to study environmental movement. This paper focuses on the regional characters of environmental movement and shows the framework of a geographical environmental movement study. Then two viewpoints are important. One is the influence of a region upon the movements. The other is the influence of movements upon a region. This paper explains with some examples about research theme based on these regional perspectives.
