Order parameters of mesophases by Kruk's method^<1)> using infrared spectroscopy for 2,3,4,6,10,11-hexa(4-dodecyloxybenzoyloxy)tryphenylene (C_<12>OBzTP) and 2,3,4,6,10,11-hexa(4-acryloyloxyoctyloxybenzoyloxy)triphenylene (AC_8ObzTP) were estimated. The C=C vibrational band at 1606 cm^<-1> of AC_8OBzTP showed a high order parameter (S=0.7) in N_D phase, indicating that triphenylene core was in a homeotropic orientation. Polymerization of AC_8OBzTP was carried out by UV irradiation with a small amount of photoinitiator. The conversion of acrylic group was reached 70 mol% at 500 mJ/cm^2. And the order parameters during photopolymerization of AC_8OBzTP were also measured, to reveal that it decreased about 0.2 accompanied with the polymerization.
