Evaluation of New Driving Mode used by In-Plane Switching

Abstract

We propose a new type in-plane switching mode. By using the continuum theory and 4×4 matrix method, we investigated the optical characteristics of the new mode. From these simulations, it is found that the new mode has an extremely wide viewing angle and its characteristics dose not depend so much on the cell gap.
