Field Sequential Fullcolor LCD using Polymer Stabilized V-shape FLCD

Abstract

Polymer stabilized V-shape FLCDs(PS-V-FLCDs) which are fabricated using an FLC material doped with photo-currable LC monomers(6wt%) and achived the photo-cure in SmC phase under the triangular wave voltage(2kHz, ±10V) was applied. We manufactured a field sequential fullcolor(FS-FC) LCD using PS-V-FLCDs and research on particular TFT driving characteristics. We confirmed that it exhibits V-shape EO response, the ability of gray scale, symmetric voltage holding ratio(VHR) for sign of the source voltage + and -. And it is also independent on the magnitude of source voltage.
