抄録

Novel cerium(IV) porphyrin sandwich complexes were synthesized and their mesomorphism was characterized by polarizing optical microscopy, differential scaning calorimetry(DSC), and X-ray diffractometry. Although the metal-free porphyrin derivatives show discotic lamellar (D_1) mesophase as reported previously, all the present sandwich complexes show a rectangular colunmer(Col_r) mesophase.
