Polymer-stabilized ferroelectoric liquid crystal (PS-FLC) cells, exhibiting a Half-V shaped and a V-shaped EO characteristics, with high display performances have been developed and reported by our group, mainly through experiments. We show the calculated results of V-shaped switching characteristics of PS-FLC cells using the continuum theory by introducing the term of polymer stabilization. We consider the projection component of c-director to substrates and the distribution of the stabilized strength in the cell thickness, as weighted functions for computer simulation. It is shown that simulated results agree well with experimental results.
