We have re-investigated carrier transport of negative charge carriers in discotic columnar phases of triphenylene derivatives, Hexabutyloxytriphenylene (H4T). We observed two transits that corresponded to the slow transit reported previously and to a fast mobility of 10^<-2> (cm^2/Vs) in the discotic hexagonal plastic phase. These are attributed to an ionic conduction that is caused by electron trapping in impurity molecules and to the electron hopping in the columns, respectively.
