1A18 Electrically controllable phase grating from UV-polymerizable liquid crystals

Abstract

Electrically controlled phase diffraction grating has been fabricated by using UV-polymerizable liquid crystals. The efficiency of the first order diffraction peak has been measured with the variation of the polarization angle of the incident light as well as with the variation of the applied electric field. Dynamic response and the relaxation dynamics of the first order peak have been measured by applying square wave electric fields.
