We have prepared a homologous series of polar non-symmetric liquid crystals possessing a pheylpyrimidine moiety and investigated the physical properties by means of polarization microscopy, DSC and dielectric measurements. T_<NI> of the compounds were found to be depend on polarizability of the terminal group. Textural changes in the nematic phase, as a function of applied DC electric field, were also observed for the compounds. We will discuss effect of molecular structure on the electro-optical behavior.
