抄録
We have prepared a homologous series of non-symmetric dimeric liquid crystals, α- (4-cyanobiphenyl-4'-yloxy) -ω- [4- (5-alkylpyrimidine-2-yl) phenyl-4"-oxy] alkanes, and investigated transition behavior of binary mixtures of the dimeric liquid crystals. Frustrated liquid-crystalline phases were observed in some mixtures. We will discuss effect of the molecule structure on appearance of the frustrated phases.
