Abstract
Photoorientation of Polymethacrylate copolymer liquid crystal film substituted with 4-methoxyazobenzene and 4-methoxycinnamoyloxybiphenyl side groups using linearly polarized (LP) He-Ne laser is described. High-order in-plane molecular orientation both azobenzene and cinnamoyl groups parallel to polarization (E) of LP 633 nm light was generated by irradiating with non polarized 365 nm light and LP 633 nm light and subsequent annealing.
