For the application to projection displays, we have investigated the LC alignment control on a new inorganic vertical alignment film having low-k property resulting from its porous structure.By using the inorganic vertical alignment film combined with a SiOx oblique evaporation method, we succeed in generating uniform pretilt angle as high as 10 deg.
