Abstract
We have investigated the availability of new benzothienobenzothiophene (BTBT) derivatives having highly ordered liquid crystal phase as polycrystalline materials. In thin film fabrication by solution process, BTBT thin films fabricated by spin coating in highly ordered liquid crystal phase were uniform without some cracks. In addition, the thin films were improved thermal stability up to 150 oC because of the high viscosity of highly ordered liquid crystal phase at 150 oC. The polycrystalline thin films of BTBT derivatives exhibited high mobility, over 1 cm2/Vs, after solvent vapor annealing. The polycrystalline thin films were better thermal stability than those of conventional dialkylated BTBT derivatives.
