Abstract
We have modeled the charge transport in organic semiconductors exhibiting molecular layers such as smectic phases and investigated it with experimental data on it. At the same time, we estimated the reorganization energy for particular materials using the quantum chemical calculation, and analyzed the experimental data with these calculated value and our model formula. We found that our model is well fitted to experimental data. The present results provide us an insight into their charge transport mechanism in liquid crystals and molecular design for a high quality organic semiconductor.
