Abstract
Recently, photovoltaic cells have been attracted as a new source of energy. Photovoltaic cells have disadvantages of high capital cost and low conversion efficiency. To solve these problems, organic photovoltaic cells have been developed due to their light weight, flexibility and low cost of materials. However, the conversion efficiency of he organic photovoltaic cell is well-known to be lower than that of the inorganic one. The purpose of this study is to attempt to improve the conversion efficiency of organic photovoltaic cell by means of the intrinsic orientational property of liquid crystal molecules.
