Abstract
A polymer-stabilized blue phase (PSBP) is thermodynamically stabilized by a polymer network (PN) formed through an in-situ photo-polymerization of monomers in a BP. However the electro-optical properties of PSBP depend on PN structure. In this study, we investigate that influence of monomer chemical structure on a temperature range of BP before photo-polymerization and characteristics of prepared PSBP. In the case of using monomer with bend-type structure, a relatively wide temperature range of BP before photo-polymerization and improved electro-optical properties of resulted PSBP were shown.
