PB46 ブルー相安定化に及ぼすオリゴマーの形状効果(ソフトマター,ポスター発表,2012年日本液晶学会討論会)

抄録

We prepared a host nematic liquid crystal consisting of a practical nematic liquid crystal mixture E7 and a small amount of a designed phenylpyrimidine oligomer. The oligomers under investigation were linear and U-shaped dimers, and T-shaped and λ-shaped trimers. We investigated phase transition behavior of each host liquid crystal doped with a chiral dopant possessing high helical twisting power. All the mixtures showed a phase sequence of isotropic liquid-bulue phase III-chiral nematic. Particullarly both trimers were found to show the marked effect on widening the BPIII temperature range.
