The shape of traditional TFT LCDs is rectangular or square. The application area of TFT LCDs becomes wider and is getting into our surroundings with a variety of complex shapes and forms. A non-rectangular SOG-LCD has been developed by a well-polished system-integration technology including an arrangement in space. Driver circuits integrated along with curved sides of a heart-shaped screen with a hollow and an array of pixels slanting 45 degrees offer narrow bezels of less than 2 mm. This new technology enables LCD modules to be designed with varied, more flexible shapes that can be adapted to nontraditional LCD applications.
