Abstract
In this study, we made the nano-pore dispersed cholesteric liquid crystals (CLCs) and investigated their optical properties. The nano-pore dispersed CLCs, which have nanosized pores in the polymer matrix were formed by photopolymerizing a mesogenic monomer and LC mixture in the LC phase. The ordered polymer matrix retains the macroscopic alignment structure when applying high electric fields, while the LC molecules, contained inside the nanosized pores, change the orientation. The optical properties, such as optical transmittance and electro-optic response time were analyzed.
