When liquid crystals are confined to very narrow space, the phase transition behavior changes due to an influence of the interface. In order to understand this phenomenon, many studies about a system of liquid crystal confined to porous glass have been made. In the present study, we carried out measurements on liquid crystal nCB using porous glass by high-resolution differential scanning calorimeter.
