A non-peripheral type of octaalkylphthalocyanine (CnPcH2) is an interesting liquid crystalline semiocnductors because of its high carrier mobility and ambipolar nature. In this work, an analogue of C6PcH2, in which two hexyl chains are replaced with methyl groups (2Me6C6PcH2) was synthesized and investigated on the mesomorphism and carrier transport properties to show that two columnar mesophases are formed and ambipolar carrier mobility is shown in the slight increased manner in compassion to C6PcH2.
