Liquid crystal light control films, which are liquid crystal / polymer composite films, are rapidly becoming widespread mainly as building members for controlling visible and invisible windows. In principle, the change in light scattering of a liquid crystal light control film is used as the change in the transparency and opacity of a window. In this study, we focus on the change in scattering property and propose an application for tuning of shade and shadow in photographing. As a concrete application example, we report photographing stone artifacts using a liquid crystal light control film.
