The fast-switching and bistable surface-stabilized ferroelectric liquid-crystal(SSFLC) structure has a great potential for application in reflective color liquid-crystal displays. We studied the relation between polarizer axis and tilt angle of SSFLC. We sifted polarizer axis from the long axis of FLC molecule. As a result, we obtained high bright reflective SSFLC displays, such as under 1000 1x, white level is 21.4 cd/m2, black level is 1.6 cd/m2. This result clarified the possibility of a reflective color SSFLC display.
