The chiral twin materials having the chiral centers at the central spacer and the both sides of the peripheral aliphatic chains were prepared and mesophasic helical structures induced by these materials were investigated. The twisting power in the Ch phase produced by the chiral centers at peripheral aliphatic chains was much stronger than that induced by the chiral center at the central spacer. On the other hand, in the SmC* phase, the chiral center intoroduced at the central spacer was found to have a siginificant effect on the helical macrostructure.
