フェロセンを含む液晶性物質の合成と物性(X) : [4-[ω-(cholesteryloxycarbonyl)dencyloxycarbonyl]phenyl]ferroceneの単結晶X線構造解析

Monosubstituted ferrocene derivatives, [4-[ω-(cholesteryloxycarbonyl)alkoxycarbonyl]phenyl]ferrocene (CAPF-n)(n is the carbon number of the methylene chain, n = 1〜11,15) have been synthesized. Some of them (CAPF-2, 4, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 15) exhibited liquid crystallinity. In this study, the crystal and molecular structure of CAPF-10 was determined by X-ray diffraction method in order to discuss exactly the structure of liquid crystalline phase. The crystallographic data are as follows; C₅₅H₇₈O₄Fe, M = 859.07, monoclinic, space group C2, a = 73.82(4), B = 5.884(1), c = 11.044(4) Å,β = 94.36(4)°,V = 4782.8(9) Å^3, Dc = 1.193 gcm^-3, λ(MoK) = 0.71069Å,μ = 3.59 cm^-1, F(000) = 1864.00, Z = 4.
