Abstract
The liquid crystal (LC) microlens can be obtained utilizing LC molecular orientation effects in a nonuniform electric field produced by the hole-patterned electrode structure. In this work, we fabricate the LC microlens using various LC materials, and estimated the lens properties by the gradient-index profiles in the hole-patterned area. The dependence of material parameters on the optical performances in the LC micsrolens are discussed.
