The three healthy adult female dogs were employed for this experiment. The animals were fed upon a fixed diet composed of rice, lean beef and soy. The urine was collected each day and diluted to a constant volume. The total nitrogen, urea, ammonia, creatinin and creatin were estimated by the usual methods. After the animals obtained the nitrogenous equilibrium, 2-3 c.c. of luteoglandol (Roche) was daily administrated subcutaneously during 4-5 days. The results of the experiment were summarized as follows.
The corpus luteum causes the diminution in the excretion of total nitrogen, but the increase in the output of urea-and creatinin-nitrogen. The output of ammonia-and creatin-nitrogen decreases in the percentage to total nitrogen.
