Abstract
1.Histamine was not detected in urinary oxytocic substance. This substance contracted rat uterus, so it is considered that oxytocic activity of urinary extract is not due to hitamine-like substances.
2. Oxytocic activity of urinary extract was decreased by the treatment with sodium thioglycollate, and it did not lose its potency by dialysis of 30 min.but the potency decreased by dialysis of more than I hour.
3.This substance had not only oxytocic effect (4 I.U./g), but antidiuretic effect (3.9 I.U./g) also.
