We discovered spider wasps, Leptodialepis sugiharai (Uchida, 1932), which nest in decaying wood, flying around collapsed Yayoi-Sugi, and collected some of them. It is possible that they had been nesting in the decaying parts of the Yayoi-Sugi before the collapse. Leaving decaying and dead wood in forests are beneficial for species that nest in decaying wood.
