A Fundamental Study on the Visual Performance Evaluation for the Building External Facing Materials

Abstract

There are various functions and performances to select the building exterior materials. We select according to terms, controlling the evaluation indicators from required performance wall itself equip, (fire resistance, heat insulation and sound insulation…) to performance controlled by finish (antiweatherability, design…). We need to arrange all requirements systematically as the engineering judgements and the indicators. This paper presents quantitative understanding about required performances concentrating on the visual performance and systemizing the properties of materials, in order to construct the system for selection of building exterior materials.
