Abstract
Recently, We find many stone finishing which has durability and visual effects. However, there are few examples of research for visual evaluation of building stone finishing. Since material colors, patterns, and forms are considered to have an effect on a visual evaluation, to study relationship between these factors and sensuous evaluation makes visual characteristic of material clear and consequently it would be an aid to selecting materials at a design stage. This research is basic examination using natural sandstone which often used as external finishing considers relationship between sensory scale value on the sensory test and physical quantities such as types of stone, surface roughness, color and pattern.
