Abstract
Quart surfaces manufacturing process consists of various stages. The first starts with the collection, storage, carrying and crushed mixing system of raw materials. This process includes quartz already processed in the size required for each case, a polyester resin, micronized quartz with other minority components like pigments. After the mixing stage, the material is moved to a vibrocompression area, where it will be subjected to a vibrocompression system so as to remove its air at the same time it is vibrated. This system results in a homogeneous and solid material without pores. In the next stage, the material is poured onto a furnace for the resin polymerization. Afterwards, the material is left to cool down for 24 hours so as to eliminate inner tensions. The following step is cutting, calibrating and polishing the slabs. All these tasks have to be carried out with water. After that, it is the turn of the control quality. The slabs are examined by photometric devices through which the homogeneity, shade, etc. of the different products are verified. The process finishes in the product labeling and storage.
