Abstract
In Japanese construction industry fields, powder coating has been noticed as a coating system that is taken into cosideration environment. Polyester powder coating has been applied to not only interior but also exterior in many buildings in foreign contries. In Europe, quality of the powder coating has been evaluated and certified by test methods suggested by QAULICOAT headquater. However, it is not clear that the method is proper or not to evaluate quality of buiding materials in Japan. And durability evaluation data for building exterior powder coating is not sufficient. Therefore, Japan Aluminum Products Association has constituted a reserch committee for durability of powder coating on aluminum alloy building materials in order to promote the research. And one of working groups that proceeds invetigations of the powder coating durability has been estblished under the committee. The group has planned investigation into the actual conditions in real buildings with pwder coating exterior in Southeast Asia, Korea and Europe. In this paper, the investigation results in Southeast Asia and Korea are discussed.
