Effects of pollution conditions and surface properties of various external finishing coating materials on cleaning effects of soiling from rainfall

Abstract

Soiling caused by rainfall under the window frames influences beauty of external walls. We will examine the effect of pollution conditions and surface properties of various external finishing coating materials on cleaning effects of soiling from rainfall. As a result, we found that it is pollutants tend to adhere to external materials by dry condition. In wet condition, pollutants are easy to fall, and progress of soiling caused by rainfall is found to be a serious effect on initial water absorption rate, water contact angle and central average roughness.
