In-transit Environmental Load Assessment of the Finishing Materials of buildings

Abstract

The environmental loads by CO2 emission from transportation have been causing concern in Japan, and environmental loads during long-distance transportation of materials such as building finishing materials should therefore be properly assessed. In this study, it is investigated to estimate the ton-kilometerage by trucks on the land routes and the resulting environmental loads due to CO2 emission of various finishing materials in building. The future environmental impacts for transportation are examined based on the estimation results
