Abstract
The purpose of this study is to evaluate anti-algae and anti-mold performance of photocatalytic coating, and to compare such performance with coating materials including anti-algae and anti-mold chemicals. Laboratory tests for evaluation of anti-algae and ant-mold performance under rather low level of UVlight irradiation were carried out by consulting with JIS Z 2911 (Methoods of test for fungus resistance) and JIS R 1705 (Fine ceramics (advanced ceramics, advanced technical ceramics)- Test method for antifungal activity of photocatalytic under photoirradiation). As a result, it was found that photocatalytic activity was confirmed in the early stage of algae and mold development even in the low level of UV irradiation. However, the ordinal coating materials including ant-algae and anti-mold chemincals showed higher performance than the photocatalytic coating materials
